ONDO: IYC Congratulates Three Ijaw Citizens Over Appointments Into OSOPADEC, Applauds Akeredolu

The Ijaw Youth Council,IYC, Western Zone today congratulated the trio of Ijaw citizens, Mrs. Odukale Mosun, Mr. Atuli Ikoto Agbara and Mr.Victor Kole Doye for their appointments as representatives of Ijaw Ethnic Nationalities into the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission,OSOPADEC Board by the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.
This is contained in a statement signed by Messrs, Olu Derimon and Lugard Izoukumor, Secretary and Information Officer, IYC Western Zone.
The IYC applauded the governor for the appointments just as it pointed out that this is the first time in history for three Ijaw people to be appointed into the board saying, "And we are indeed, grateful for it."
The IYC said,"We feel even though three Ijaw people were appointed on the OSOPADEC board, still it does not reflect equity, fairness and inclusiveness."
According to the IYC,"This is so because an Ijaw daugther or son ought to be appointed as Chairman of the board, which will indeed reflect equity, fairness and inclusiveness towards the Ondo of our dream."
The IYC however implored Gov. Akeredolu to take note or cognizance and give utmost consideration for Ijaw person to be appointed Chairman on the OSOPADEC board in the future.
"We appreciate Gov. Akeredolu for appointing three Ijaw people onto the board, while urging him to reward our people’s modest contributions politically and economically as it relates to the Chairman of OSOPADEC."
