Delta State Governor

"I am impressed with the actions of the Delta State Government as victims receive cheque payment today Monday 7th February from the Office of the Secretary to the State." Activist Israel Joe.

"This is the best way to go and I want to use this medium to thank His Excellency, the governor of Delta State for responding to this timely call."

The Delta State Government today kick start payment of compensations to victims of #ENDSARS# in the State.

A Niger-Delta Activist, Comrade Israel Joe disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to Our Correspondent.

He said, "I am impressed with the actions of the Delta State Government as victims receive cheque payment today Monday 7th February from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government's (SSG) office.

Comrade Joe commended Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa and the State Government for responding to his calls to pay the victims of the #ENDSARS#.

According to Comrade Joe, "This is the best way to go and I want to use this medium to thank His Excellency, the governor of Delta State for responding to this timely call.

Really, #EndSARS advocates won the battle. I also want to use this medium to respond to the news making rounds that some #EndSARS protesters are still under detention in some areas of the country. Family members and friends of those victims in detention should reach us as soon as possible."

It would be recalled that Comrade Joe  had in a statement on the 25th January called on the Delta State Government to pay compensations to victims of #EndSARS as recommended by the Judicial Panel of Inquiry as he threatened to resign his membership from the Delta State Human Rights Protection Committee if Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa refuses to pay the victims.

He said the pressure from victims is the reason that informed such decision to make the call.
