A call has been made for a watertight security to be established, around the embattled Commander of the Inspector General of Police Response Team, IRT, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, before his eventual transfer to the United States of America, where he will expectedly, face charges of Illegal Money Laundering. 

Giving this call is retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Amrose Aisabor in a recent chat with Daily Trust Newspapers.

AIG Aisabor (Retd.) a security expert, alleged that the disgraced Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abba Kyari was a monster created by police chiefs and powerful politicians on his payroll.

The former AIG therefore stated that the Nigerian government should ensure that there is a strong security around Kyari so he will not commit suicide.

Recall that the Nigerian government had announced its intention to extradite Kyari to the United States.

Also, it is pertinent to note that, in April 2021, a Grand Jury had indicted Kyari, with the approval of the U. S. District Court for the Central District of California, and the indictment was filed in a federal court.

Nigeria's Attorney-General of the Federation and Honourable Minister of Justice, Mr Malami (SAN), filed an application for Kyari’s extradition before the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, penultimate week, seeking his extradition.

Aisabor further disclosed that "Abba Kyari was a monster created by some retired and serving police leadership. He served these officers and their wives with gifts while serving as the commander of the IRT.

"Some powerful politicians are also believed to be on his payroll hence he was seen to be infallible and no senior officer was bold enough to check his excesses and illegalities.

"There is palpable fear everywhere now that Abba Kyari may likely spill the beans since he may not want to go down alone as many police officers serving and retired are suspected to have benefited from his illegal activities."

The US Grand Jury had indicted the embattled Commander of the IRT of Wire fraud, money laundering, and identity theft.

Abba Kyari was also accused of collaborating with Ramon Abbas, alias Hushpuppi, who has pleaded guilty to charges of Internet fraud and money laundering.
