Open letter: Make peace, N'Delta Activist, Israel Joe urges two Delta Clerics, Fufeyin, Ighosotu
"Everything doesn’t need legal settlement. While Justice is good, sometimes peace can also be considered because I still don’t know why Christians hate themselves this much." Activist Joe Israel.
A Niger Delta Activist, Comrade Israel Joe on Sunday urged two clerics, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin (Mercy Land) and Pastor Johnmark Ighosotu of (Free Indeed) in Delta State to make peace with each other.
This is contained in a statement signed and made available to Our Correspondent.
Comrade Joe expressed disappointment in the two clerics for fighting dirty when the options of peace can be x-rayed.
"I am not judging the rightness or wrongness of the act committed by one “Bishop” Ufuoma during his confession at Free Indeed church indicting other prophets and pastors with all sought of names.
"The video that went viral was the grouse and set in motion this great clash of religious titans.
"Whether anyone is real or fake is not the issue. That the said Bishop Ufuoma committed a criminal defamation is not the issue. That the prophet of Mercy Land Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is aggrieved over the whole thing is not the issue, but the real issue in stating the fact is that the two of you are preaching Christ. The two of you are Christians.
"The two of you have large membership. The two of you preach love and forgiveness. That two of you are Deltans (Urhobo & Ijaw). That the two of you are recognized clergymen endeared in the heart of many.
"What is now the role of CAN and PFN in resolving this fight which is now going dirty, by different bloggers pitching tent with either parties to turn the social media space into the ring, where non-Christians are now the referees? I wish to state my disappointment also to the fathers of faith in CAN, PFN and other Christian bodies watching this senseless battle raging into criminal and legal power tussle.
"Pastor Johnmark Ighosotu has employed the services of Barr. Mike Ozekhume, Barr. Oghenejabor Ikimi and others to his legal team same as Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin who has mighty men and SANs also in his legal team, all for a fight that will lead to nothing.
"What broke my heart the more is the two clergymen who have sent petitions to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, then to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 5 and now to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) force headquarters Abuja, the IPO and department in charge of the matter along with all aforementioned are all Muslims. Is it not a disgrace on Christianity that they have put their heads in the hands of Muslims to settle their matter? Do you think they will encourage peace between the two pastors? This is a question these two men of God must answer. They will keep encouraging the both men to fight on while the police continues to collect monies on the case from both sides. Have you seen two Muslim clerics fighting themselves this dirty?
"Everything doesn’t need legal settlement. While Justice is good, sometimes peace can also be considered because I still don’t know why Christians hate themselves this much. This was how Pastor Chris Okotie hated Prophet T.B. Joshua even after T.B. Joshua’s death he still continues to reign untold insult on the man. As a major convener of the #EndSARS in Delta Stata, the Prophet Jeremiah sent a live cow, bags of Rice and other materials to us in the Effurun Roundabout during the Protest and Pastor Johnmark Ighosotu also supported our peaceful Protest awesomely. Why the fight?
This fight must stop now as we keep engaging both parties in the line of peace. The sky is big enough for everyone to fly."
