EASTER: NSCDC DEPLOYS OVER 2000 FOR SECURITY, SAFETY IN KADUNA

In a bid to ensure the protection of lives people and safety of properties and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in Kaduna, the State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, has deployed 2,050 comprising officers men in this year's Easter period.


The deployment which is both covert and overt in nature extends to all the 23 Local Government councils before, during and after the festivity.

To achieve this, the State Commandant, Godwin Miebi, had earlier directed Divisional Officers through Area Commanders to mobilize all personnel in their formations and brief them on the operational strategies put in place for maximum security.

In the same vein, all head of departments and units at the headquarters have been directed and have also mobilised personnel serving under them and are deployed by the operations department.

The Commandant explained further, "during the period, maximum surveillance, foot and vehicular patrols are to be strictly ensured with the view to protecting Critical National Assets and infrastructure from antics of vandals."

He continued, "operatives in the Anti-vandal unit, Counter Terrorism Unit, Intelligence department and the Rapid Response Squad and Special Female Squad are adequately mobilized and briefed on how to perform their duties and in synergy with other agencies."

Residents of the state are required to report suspicious persons and acts which have security threats to the corps or other security agencies, Miebi said.

He called for effective collaboration from members of the public by relating and giving information that will address security threats which are capable of affecting the state.

Miebi continued by suing for residents of the state to embrace love, peace and harmony which are virtues of Jesus whose crucifixion is significant is being marked through Easter.

He  felicitates with Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmed, his Deputy, members of the executive as well and legislature and good people of the State for the celebration.
