Ahead of the 2023 governorship election in Delta State, Mrs. Leri Iyovwaye, wife of a frontline governorship aspirant, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye today stormed the meeting of the People's Democratic Party, PDP in Delta South Senatorial District and solicited votes of the women/female delegates for her husband as the delegates election draws near.

Addressing the women who are from eight local government areas including Patani, Burutu, Isoko South, Isoko North, Warri South, Warri North, Warri South-West and Bomadi said, "If you vote for him as your governor, you will not regret it."

She urged the women/female delegates to support her husband to cling the PDP Governorship ticket. "If he is there, the women will enjoy the most. Tell the youths to think of tomorrow and not the money they will get now.

"If you vote my husband, all of us will enjoy. I beg you mothers, sisters, my elders, stand for my husband. You will not regret it."

She said her husband, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye will tackle the health and education sectors adequately well stressing that, "The money he is spending is not government money. It's his own money."

The women leader who spoke one after the other, promised to give Deacon Chris Iyovwaye their votes.

In her response, High Chief (Mrs.) Vero Emmanuel Tangbowei who convened the meeting said; "let the will of God be done."
