DSP OMO-AGEGE'S AIDE, BILLY EGBE RESIGNS, DUMPS APC
"In addition, I have also resigned my membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC."
The political base of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is currently witnessing a slight turmoil, following the resignation of one of his Senior Legislative Aide, Billy Oghenebrume Egbe, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
The former SLA made public his resignation via his verified Facebook page, citing personal reasons for his decision.
He said; "Dear friends, as you all know, there is a season for everything, and a time for every purpose under the Heaven.
"Today, I want to respectfully inform you that I have resigned from my position as Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to the Deputy Senate President, His Excellency Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
"In addition, I have also resigned my membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC." He stated.
Following the resignation of Billy Oghenebrume Egbe, some of his friends and political associates in Ughelli, Delta State have expressed varying degrees of opinion concerning the resignation of Egbe, who many youths regard as an inspirational light and leader, whose doggedness has no equal, when his leadership qualities are measured.
According to an associate, the sudden resignation of Billy Egbe as Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy Senate President, is surprising, unexpected and a huge loss.
"The sudden resignation of Oghenebrume Egbe as a member of the All Progressives Congress APC is a loss to the party and the DSP in particular." A source revealed.
Another associate who did not want his name mentioned on print, stated that the information and resignation of Billy Oghenebrume Egbe was unexpected due to his unflinching and unalloyed loyalty to the DSP even as he said that the SLA never broached the topic during their last discussion.
He opined that indeed, the forth coming general election in 2023 would be an interesting one.
Commending Billy Oghenebrume Egbe for the decision to dump the DSP and the All Progressives Congress APC, Comrade Onoriode Akporere described the action as that of a visionary fighter who put the people first unlike some followers of the DSP who are selfish, self-centered and egocentric.
He however bashed the Distinguished Senator for impoverishing other of his aides while some are more favoured especially those from his Orogun axis of Delta Central Senatorial District.
"You cannot be working and putting loyalty ahead of everything while others are progressing financials, buying cars and building houses.
"If you are with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and not from Orogun, you can hardly progress." He stated.
