The Deputy Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Solomon Ighrakpata has hailed the emergence of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as Vice Presidential Candidate of the People's Democratic Party PDP, saying it is well deserved. 

In a statement, Honourable Solomon Ighrakpata who represents Uvwie Constituency noted that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa's choice as Vice Presidential Candidate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakarthe PDP Presidential Candidate is a true representation of the South South and South East Region of Nigeria.

Honourable Solomon Ighrakpata noted that the pair of Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa could win next year's general elections. 

The Deputy Chief Whip of Delta State House of Assembly however added that what is required now is for all party leaders and supporters to put grievances behind them and work for the victory of PDP during the 2023 general elections.

He described the first step taken by the party's Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar to meet with all the aspirants who contested with him during the primaries as a bold step and reassuring that the party was working in the right direction towards victory in next year's general elections. 

The Delta lawmaker congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his emergence as the PDP Vice Presidential Candidate and noted  that he has worked hard for the party over the years to deserve the slot.
