Residents of the Bwari, Kubwa axis in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT today scampered for safety following an attack by suspected terrorists on a patrol team of the Guards Brigade, the elite military team responsible for protecting the Presidency and the Federal Capital Territory, on Monday afternoon.

With this attack, many say the terrorists are getting more emboldened daily especially with courage they applied in carrying out the attack on the military patrol team of the Guards  Brigade.

Sources in the FCT disclosed that the attack occured along the very Bwari-Kubwa road, that also plays host to the Law School and the National Secretariat of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB.

The source also stated that troops were on routine patrol of the area when they were attacked by the terrorists, thereby, raising fears that the terrorists are probably plotting a siege in the Bwari area which houses the Nigerian Law School and the headquarters of the Joint and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and other vital facilities in the area.

However, the gallant troops from the Guards Brigade forcefully repelled the ambush with the three soldiers sustaining injuries during the attack and are currently receiving treatment at a military facility within the FCT.

The cryptic message on the attack titled ‘Ambush Attack Against Own Troops Of Gds Bde’ reads:

“At about 241620A Jul 22, own tps of 7 Gds Bn on routine ptl along Rd Kubwa – Bwari were ambushed by suspected terr. 3 x sldrs were injured during the attk.
