The chairman of Udu local government council, Hon. Chief Nite Brown has announced the ban on cart pushers otherwise known as "damaged iron collectors" within the council, noting that the criminal activities of these people came to the fore, following complaints from residents of the Communities.
According to the council boss, the increasing complaints became too much for the Council to handle.
In a meeting with security agencies and stakeholders, it was resolved that the activities of these miscreants be banned immediately.
The Council boss directed the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Udumebraye D. Samuel to liase with news outlets to make the announcement and directed the Security Agencies to effect the order.
In another development, Chief Jite Brown also directed that owners of horses and bulls constituting traffic nuisance in the Council area should remove them within one week with effect from today, Wednesday, 5th October, 2022 or such animals would be arrested and the owners made to face the wrath of the law.
