DEFENCE MINISTER CONGRATULATES PRESIDENT- ELECT, ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU ........Hails His Magninimity In Victory

The Minister of Defence, Maj. General Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd), CFR has congratulated the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his emergence as the 16th democratically elected Nigerian leader.

General Magashi (Retd.) in a statement issued and e-signed by Mohammad Abdulkadri, Special Assistant to the Minister of Defence on Media and Publicity,  said the All Progressive Party's victory at the Presidential Poll represents a new vitsa of hope for Nigerians as captured in the "Renewed Hope" mantra of Tinubu/ Shettima joint ticket.

The Defence Minister therefore rejoiced with President Muhammadu Buhari, the leadership of the APC at all levels and other stakeholders for the well deserved outcome of the Presidential and National Assembly elections that will guarantee continuity and stability of the nation's polity. 

While acknowledging the political maturity, magnanimity and humility of the President-elect as displayed by extending hands of fellowship to the candidates of other political parties who lost at the polls.

General Magashi pointed out that the victory of APC has illuminated the beauty of representative, competitive and elective democracy that bestows the power of choices on the electorate as dully exercise in the just concluded elections. 

He however advised the electorate to remain calm and law abiding after before, during and exercising their franchise even in the coming election and to shun any act of violence capable of disrupting peaceful coexistence in the country. 

The Defence Minister warned that the military will not renege on its duty in aid of civil authority alongside other security operatives and will not condone lawlessness and abuse of civil liberty in any part of the country.
