BUHARI DISSOLVES FERMA'S GOVERNING BOARD .... Appoints New Chairman

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the dissolution and renewal of the Governing Board for the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA, an intervention agency established in 2002 for the monitoring and maintenance of all Federal roads in Nigeria.

Following the dissolution of the Board, a new chairman, Mr James Olugbenga Akintola has been appointed to oversee the activities of the agency.

He takes over from Mr Tunde Lemo, who voluntarily stepped down. Other members of the old Board have their terms renewed, a statement from the State House Media Office, signed by the Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina revealed.

"The outgoing chairman, Mr Lemo conveys his appreciation to President Buhari for the opportunity given him to serve the country.

"Mr Akintola, the new Chairman, had occupied similar positions in many States. A multi-skilled construction professional, he had been Senior Special Assistant Infrastructure in Ogun State, Consultant to Kwara State, Special Adviser Infrastructure, Oyo State, Executive Chairman, Lagos State Public Works Corporation, among others. He holds a B.Sc Architecture from University of Lagos, and an M.Sc in the same field from the then University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University." The statement concluded.
