Delta: Aladja Community Denies Attack On Ogbe-Ijoh

"The Delta State Government failed and have continued to fail the good people from the both communities (Aladja/Ogbe-Ijaw) who are genuinely interested in peace."..... Ighotegwolor

...... Urges the leaderships of the two Communities to embrace peace.

The Coordinator, Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh Peace Vanguard, Bezi Ejivwo Ighotegwolor today stated that Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State did not attack Ogbe-Ijoh Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area.

In a statement, Ighotegwolor condemned a media publication by Congress Newspaper, which he described as an online unprofessional outlet.

He said the publication by Congress Newspaper on Wednesday is "false" stressing that, it is the height of desperation to seek an "alibi" to attack Aladja.

"I want to unequivocally state that Aladja never attacked Ogbe-Ijoh and have no intention to do so in the near future."

According to Ighotegwolor, "This has always been the trend with Ogbe-Ijoh. Whenever they are ready to attack, they go to the Press to make unfounded allegations against the peace loving people of Aladja."

He said Aladja Community is not unaware of all the plans of the Ogbe-Ijoh people at mobilizing fighters from Gbaramatu and other Ijaw Communities to fight Aladja.

"We have got the gist of all the types of weapons they have mobilized into Ogbe-Ijoh in preparation for an attack on Aladja. But we know that they will regret it if they dare attack Aladja because the land belongs to Aladja and the good intentions of Aladja will speak against Ogbe-Ijoh and any fighters they have hired.

"I have been advocating for peace between the both communities but I have come to realized that Ogbe-Ijoh is not ready for peace. So it's time to speak up.

"The Delta State Government failed and have continued to fail the good people from the both Communities who are genuinely interested in peace."

Ighotegwolor also urged the leaderships of the two Communities to embrace peace.
