EDU ON TWO DAYS WORKING VISIT ZAMFARA STATE ..... Flags Off Verification of the National Social Register

H.E Dauda Lawal, the Executive Governor of Zamfara state, welcoming Dr. Betta Edu, Honourable Minister, Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Ministry to his State.

The Honourable Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu was recently in Zamfara state on a Two-Day working visit.

This is according to a statement from her Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Rasheed Olarewanju Zubair, mipra.

The visit, according to Rasheed Zubair, is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to cater for Nigerians by capturing the citizens via a National Social Register, which will expectedly provide a safety net for all Nigerians. 

Highlight of Dr Betta Edu's 2-Days Working Visit working visit to Zamfara state included; a courtesy call on the Governor of Zamfara state H.E Dauda Lawal at Government House, Gusau, the state capital.

Also, Dr Edu's visit will witness the Flag-off of the Verification of the National Social Register in Zamfara state, the Handing over of 40 Renewed Hope Houses built for Internally Displaced Persons, IDP's in the state displaced by bandits. The houses are in the resettlement cities.

Of significant note is one of the beneficiaries; a woman who was trending on social media as living with her children in the forest because she had no roof over her head. The beneficiaries appreciated the Federal Government for the timely intervention.

The Minister equally paid a visit to the Federal University of Gusau in the company of the Executive Governor where she met with the VC and 16 students rescued so far. 

At the Federal University, Gusau, Dr. Betta Edu gave the assurances of the President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Tinubu who she said, has directed security agencies to ensure that the remaining students are rescued immediately. 

She also met the victims and provided support to them which would help them recover quickly and reintegrate themselves back into society, promising some psychotherapy for victims.

Similarly, Dr. Betta Edu used the visit to flag-off the distribution of palliatives to IDPs in zamfara state.
