FERMA: TINUBU ORDERS WITHDRAWAL OF CHAIRMANSHIP NOMINATION

"All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive." 

Following the controversy that has trailed the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that the nomination be withdrawn with immediate effect.

This was the disclosure by the Special Adviser, Medial and Publicity to the  President, Chief Ajuri Ngelale in a brief statement released on Thursday, 19th October 2023 in Abuja.

"The President's withdrawal of the above-mentioned nomination is directed with immediate effect.

"All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive." The statement concluded.

Political observers have commended the president's decision describing it as the best action considering the outcry by Nigerians.

A public commentator, Mahjeed Abdullahi described President Tinubu as a leader with a listening ear.

"Let us rally round the President and give him the desired support he needs to put this nation on the path to greatness. We cannot continue to criticize the president over every move. A little patience, more prayers and good wishes for our leader is what we need to do for our country." Abdullahi stated.
