Tertiary Health Institutions Get FG Assurances Of Adequate Funding

The Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa has reiterated 

The federal government has reiterated its determination to put more financial commitments to health institutions of learning in the country.

This was the revelation of the Honourable Minister of State, Health and Social Welfare, Dr Tunji Alausa during his oversight tour and official commissioning of the Ultra-modern Projects at Federal College of Dental Technology & Therapy, in Enugu, Southeast Nigeria.

Dr. Alausa, in a statement issued and signed by Patricia Deworitshe, (Mrs) the Director Press and Public Relations Unit of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, attributed the immense well-being of any society to success in health care delivery. 

He explained that the present administration specifically focuses its health drive action on four (4) major agendas, namely;

a. Governance in Healthcare 

b. Unlocking Value  Chain   of the Healthcare Sector.

c.  Health & Social Security

d.  Health Population. 

Speaking further, Dr. Alausa commended the Rector, top management staff, and the entire Community of the Institution for mutual cooperation amongst them, which enhanced the opportunity to achieve more in terms of project execution. 

The Minister later applauded Prof. John Emaimo, Rector of the College, for his giant stride being exhibited within the shortest time in office. 

Earlier, the Rector of the College, Prof. John Emaimo expressed his gratitude to the federal government for the financial support received in order to carry out major projects that will benefit the college and the immediate communities. 

Prof. Emaimo, while enumerating some challenges faced by the institution, requested the Hon. Minister to come to their aid in addressing their needs for another milestone achievement the College anticipated. 

Some of the projects, the Hon. Minister  Commissioned at the College include:

* Two-in-One Lecture room

* Biomedical  Research Centre.

* Centre for Entrepreneurship  Development. (CED)

* Medical  Centre Extension .

* Rector's Lodge

* One Storey Classroom block.

* Lawn Tennis Court. among others.
