Alleged Stolen Bags of Rice Belonging to the Masses...... NADECO USA Slams National Assembly Members

"Has it not become very obvious that the insensitivity and high level of impunity displayed by the lawmakers is borne out of greed, selfishness, opportunism, sycophancy and lack of good leadership?" ..... NADECO USA

In a scathing revelation, Comrade David Adenekan, spokesperson for the National Democratic Coalition, NADECO USA, has exposed a troubling incident involving trailers loaded with bags of rice purportedly belonging to lawmakers in the National Assembly, concealed beneath their traditional attire, 'BABANRIGA or AGBADA.'

This comes after Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Special Assistant, Mr. Segun Dada, confirmed that palliatives valued at 200 million and 100 million Naira, respectively, were given to each member of the National Assembly for the Upper and Lower Chambers to distribute to the masses in their respective constituencies and senatorial areas as Christmas gifts to alleviate the untold hardship in the country.

However, the real question is, why did Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu limit the implementation of this program to an agreement with National Assembly lawmakers? Why not ensure that the public has timely access to this information in order to hold their politicians accountable and be more open about this policy in order to alleviate the suffering of the masses?

NADECO USA therefore queries this arrangement that is generally viewed as a shady deal and would also, like to ascertain if Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not culpable? In the same vein, is this not "the carrot and stick" approach that would be used in the nearest future to rein the lawmakers into submissiveness, knowing that majority of the supposed "Christmas Rice" would end up in the pots of cronies and associates?

Is this not a policy turning into a big empty stomach for the suffering masses? And, will it not be better not to learn about the trailers load of bags of rice you never had?

Suffice it to say, these lawmakers are on a wicked mission to further milk the people dry.

It is recalled that only a few weeks ago, they were justifying the approval of a supplementary budget to buy SUV truck for each of the lawmakers in the National Assembly, worth N160,000.000.00 (One hundred and sixty million naira) in a country that the economy is in a very bad shape with the citizens wallowing in abject poverty.

Has it not become very obvious that the insensitivity and high level of impunity displayed by the lawmakers is borne out of greed, selfishness, opportunism, sycophancy and lack of good leadership? NADECO USA queries.

So far, this is a moribund of democracy.

Lastly, NADECO USA will not hesitate to continue to expose every atrocity and corruption in this current political dispensation and fight for good governance to deepen democracy.

We Move......
