NEW CHEVRON MD VISITS LOKPOBIRI ..... As Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Oil) Promises Cooperation For Increased Oil Production

Hon. Minister of State Petroleum Resources  (Oil), Sen.Heineken Lokpobiri Ph.D (centre) flanked to the left by the incoming Chairman /Managing Director Chevron  Nigeria Limited, Jim Swartz and to the right by the outgoing Chairman/Managing Director, Chevron Nigeria Limited, Richard Kennedy during a courtesy visit in Abuja recently.


Strengthening of collaboration and partnership between the Federal Government and Chevron Nigeria Limited would build consensus because, as real industry player, government was expected to be working together as well as continuously engaging stakeholders in order to assist them to achieve their aims and objectives. 

This was the assertion of the Honourable Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, PhD when he played host to the incoming Chairman/Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria Limited, Jim Swartz accompanied by the outgoing Chairman/Managing Director, Richard Kennedy and the General Manager,  Government and Public Affairs of Chevron Nigeria Limited, Essimaje Brikinn on a courtesy visit to his office. 

During the courtesy visit, Senator Lokpobiri expressed his willingness to cooperate and work harmoniously with the incoming Chairman/Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria Limited, Jim Swartz in order to increase oil production in Nigeria. 

In a statement issued and signed by the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Oluwakemi Ogunmakinwa (Mrs), the Minister, while commending the commitment and determination of the outgoing Chairman/Managing Director of the Company welcomed the incoming Chairman/Managing Director with the promise that the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was committed to providing an enabling working environment for him to succeed and achieve his mandates and organisational goals.

Earlier in their remarks, the outgoing Chairman/Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria Limited, Richard Kennedy, appreciated the Honourable Minister for the support and cooperation he enjoyed from the Ministry during his tenure. 

The incoming Chairman/Managing Director, Jim Swartz, expressed his readiness to work with the Minister and  his team, and he assured that his company would help the nation develop its vast oil resources.
