The Federal Government has called on all stakeholders in the automobile industry for a sustainable collaboration among manufacturers, dealers regulatory bodies, and other players in the automobile ecosystem that would ensure growth and development of the sector. 

The call, by the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite is part of a broader strategy by the Ministry to enhance the sector’s contribution to the nation’s economy.

Uzoka-Anite made this known at the Automotive Component Manufacturers meeting in Abuja held during the week, saying that the automobile industry faces both challenges and opportunities. While encouraging stakeholders to key into the Nigerian Automotive Development Policy, the minister also affirmed that the country has the capacity and raw materials to manufacture cars for Nigerians and export them to other countries.

In her address to the Automotive Component Manufacturers, the Minister stated that, “as far as we are concerned, the auto industry is now set to go."

In his introductory comments, Amb. Nura Abba Rimi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, emphasized the significance of team action and shared vision as outlined in the Nigerian Automotive Development Policy. 

He also urged stakeholders that the country "will overcome obstacles and unleash the full potential of Nigeria's automotive component sector." He encouraged NADDC and other stakeholders to use the chance to form alliances, explore new areas of collaboration, and devise ways to catapult the automotive components manufacturing industry to new heights of success. 

The government’s charge underscores the pivotal role stakeholders play in shaping its trajectory. Their commitment to sustainable practices will drive Nigeria’s automotive sector toward a brighter and more prosperous future.
