LIFE IS A CIRCLE (IGBA LAYE): A MEMOIR FROM MY DIARY. By David Adenekan

Donald Trump
America's 47th President

"People Get The Leaders They Deserve: It Is Now Donald Trump's World..... Make The Best Use Of It To Better Your Own Life." - David Adenekan.

The great mouth piece in the attached video clip may resonate with many that are seemingly hurting with the sad defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris in the just concluded US Presidential election. Please 🙏, listen to it.

To start with, the victory of Donald Trump at the just concluded presidential election in the United States may not be what you want, but it is practically a new circle of life. It is the new reality of the world we are going to be living in the United States of America for the next four years. Live with it and make the best use out of it to better your own life. Please be pragmatic.

It is very important to say you cannot continue to live in the euphoria of the realization of Kamala Harris's campaign promises in the next four years from now, it is not just going to happen under a Donald Trump's presidency.

Truth be told, it is a mirage of hopelessness to still want to live in the world of Kamala Harris's campaign promises in the next four years. "Igba laye" (life is a circle) and it is just going to be Trump's world. Power has changed hands. GBAM!

Therefore, make the best use of what you can get from Trump's administration to better your own life.

It is imperative to say that, as devastating as President Donald Trump's pandemic era was, do you know that some people did take advantage of the small business loans to start new businesses? Yes, many people did.

I encourage you to reset your mind to live in the reality of Trump's world, par adventure you may get something you can use out of his policies to better your own life. Yes, your outright condemnation of Trump's presidency may blind your mind to some of the good things you may benefit from its presidency.

Do you know as critical as I am of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Presidency in Nigeria, I never completely blinded my mind to what I can get from his policies to better my own life. Why? I have reset my mind to live in the reality of PBAT's world. Yes, I have gained from his new Nigeria passport vis-a-vis, NIN's policies to incorporate a new company in Nigeria; African Trend Communication And Marketing Company Ltd. This is coupled with getting a BVN to open a new corporate bank account in Nigeria. This was a very difficult task to achieve under previous administrations. Hitherto, to renew your Nigeria passport here in the United States, you have to fly to Atlanta Georgia or New York City and you may need to stay for a week to get it done. Very costly and burdensome indeed!

As a child born into a political family in Lagos Mainland, I learned a lot of political intrigues, bad or good. My Dad's first son, Musibau Aremu Adenekan of blessed memory was a civil servant in 1979 and he had a long time friend that they had both attended the Ahmadiyya College Agege together. His friend then was working with Federal Ministry of Housing under President Shehu Shagari's administration and at that particular time in question, Senator Wahaab Dosunmu was the Minister of Housing. As part of NPN's housing policies, an affordable low cost housing scheme was introduced by President Shehu Shagari's administration to provide housing for many middle class families and poor people in Nigeria, particularly in Lagos state as the Federal Capital at that time.

Egbon Sule brought the housing form to my brother to complete because as a civil servant, he was eligible for the affordable middle class housing program. My brother disdainfully rejected the offer with a song; "Ile won na nuhun ni, ile abere wo bi ile ekute (a house not better than a rat's house)." Egbon Sule secured the affordable federal housing for himself and his fiance. Today, they are married and have two houses. They are both in their retirement ages and had since paid off the mortgage and restructured the two buildings to accommodate about 8 tenants in total. A great income for their retirement ages.

Do you know that it was about 25 years after, that my brother started thinking of having his own massion in Lagos. Yes, he confessed to us that, he regretted his decision not to accept the great offer. He said, he was very naive and wrong not to have been guided by reality of life to make some decisions in life. According to him, "igba laye" (life is a circle and make the best use of it as it comes). He told us never to allow negative rhetorics, feelings and partisan politics to guide our logical reasons.

Yes, outright condemnation of President Donald Trump or President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not be in your best interest until there is a change of power. No single individual has control over a change of power in a democracy.

Yes, people deserve the kind of leaders they get. Live in the reality of Today's world by making the best use of Donald Trump's presidency to better your own life. Be wise!

Only Time Will Tell!
