SHEHU DIKKO SAYS PARTNERSHIP, COLLABORATION KEY TO TRANSFORMATION OF NIGERIA'S SPORTS SECTOR

Collaborations and partnerships with private and corporate organisations have been identified as veritable tools in the efforts of the National Sports Commission, NSC to transform the nation's sports sector.
This was the disclosure of the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, NSC, Mallam Dikko when he received on a courtesy visit, the President of SWA Sports Organisation in his office at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
According to the Chairman of the NSC, in a statement issued and signed by Kehinde Ajayi (Mrs), Director of Information and Public Relations of the Commission, "the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration as captured in the Renewed Hope Agenda is to see Sports not just as recreation, but as a business activity with potential to contribute immensely to the economic growth of the country."
The Chairman noted that "Sports has great potential for wealth creation as well as the ability to contribute to the economic growth of the country if well harnessed, but emphasized that, that can only be achieved with the active collaboration and partnership with other sectors."
He commended the leadership of SWA Sport Organisation for coming up with such a laudable initiative to partner with the Commission to see to the growth of sports in the country.
"I can assure you are in the right place. As a Commission, we are ready to partner with you to see how we can use the forum to attract investors into sector."
He called on private and corporate organisations, including major players in the industry to come forward and take advantage of the incentives in the industry as according to him, they have a critical role to play in overall efforts to restore the sector to its past glory.
Speaking earlier, the President and Chief Executive of the SWA Sport Organisation Aisha Shuaibu congratulated Mr. Dikko on his "well deserved appointment as the Sports Commission Chairman." She explained that her organisation is passionate to see to the growth of sports in the country, hence their desire to partner with the Commission.
SWA Sports Organisation is a body established with a vision to revolutionize the sports landscape across the country.
