The Secretary of Afenifere Diaspora USA, Comrade David Adenekan has described the kidnap and purported arrest of Dele Farotimi; a lawyer, Human Rights Activist and a Chieftain of Afenifere, as "frivolous, the criminal charges concocted against him, by the Nigeria Police to get him incarcerated."

Comrade Adenekan, in a statement issued early on Wednesday morning, 4th of December 2024, in unequivocal terms, demanded for the immediate release of Dele Farotimi. He stressed that, it was a move taken too far to assuage a certain circle of persons not comfortable with the critique style and positions of the Human Rights Activist to remain unbiased and tell truth to all.

According to Comrade David Adenekan, "Dele Farotimi remains the voice of the voiceless in a moribund economy.
