TCN MD Visit Substations In Lagos, Commissions Power Transformers At Alagbon, Alausa

"TCN is undertaking several substation's projects in its substations nationwide. Some have been completed, while others are ongoing. Several transformer projects have also been completed in TCN  substations nationwide, including other substations in Lagos, Rivers, Enugu, Kano, Kaduna, Bauchi, Benin, Nassarawa, Imo States, and Abuja amongst others." Mbah.

In continuation of his inspection visit to Substations in Lagos state, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN, Engr Sule Abdullaziz, at the 330/132/33kV Alagbon Transmission Substation, Engr Abdulaziz inspected two new 100/125 MVA Power Transformers, which were installed on the 18th January 2024.

General Manager Public Relations of the TCN, Ndidi Mbah in a statement, disclosed that "the transformers project which is also a part of the TCN - WORLD Bank projects, increased the capacity of the substation from 250MVA to 440MVA.", 

"This means more bulk power for Eko Disco to offtake to its customers in Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Banana Island, some part of lagos island and parts of Lekki." She revealed.

"TCN is undertaking several substation's projects in its substations nationwide. Some have been completed, while others are ongoing. Several transformer projects have also been completed in TCN  substations nationwide, including other substations in Lagos, Rivers, Enugu, Kano, Kaduna, Bauchi, Benin, Nassarawa, Imo States, and Abuja amongst others." Mbah stated.

In a similar development, Abdullaziz also visited the Alausa Transmission Substation today 5th December, 2024, and inspected the substation"s control room and switchyard, including the newly commissioned 100/125 MVA 132/33KV power transformer that was commiissiond into service on 26th September, 2024

"The new 100MVA transformer increased the Substation capacity from 135MVA  to 235MVA and made available more bulk power for Ikeja ElectricityDistribution Company to offtake for its customers in Ikeja, Oregun, Alausa, Ojodu and environs.

"The Alausa Transmission Substation is one of the transmission substations feeding Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, whose transformer capacity was recently enhanced", the statement further disclosed.

In addition, the TCN MD/CEO was at the Otta 132kV Transmission Substation where a new100MVA transformer was equally commissioned with a second one currently being installed.

The projects are a part of the ongoing TCN - World Bank Projects aimed at transmission capacity expansion in Nigeria.
