GAIDAM CELEBRATES ACHIEVEMENTS OF POLICE STUDENTS

The Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has celebrated the outstanding achievements of the graduands of the Nigeria Police Force Day Secondary School, Abuja, for their dedication, discipline, excellent performance, and potential exhibited in their final year examinations.

He stated this during the 1st Graduation Ceremony and Passing Out Parade of the 2024/25 academic session of the Police Day Secondary School Abuja, held at the School Sports Ground in Abuja.

The Minister, represented by the Director of Police Services Department of the Ministry, Mr. Ibrahim Mohammed, pointed out that the historic occasion marks a significant milestone in the school’s history and expressed sincere gratitude to the teachers and department in charge of education.

This event, he said, demonstrates the ongoing Renewed Hope Police Reforms within primary and secondary schools in the police ecosystem as a strong commitment by the government to drive excellence in police institutions and make them a choice school in the country.

He says, “This event is dedicated to exploring innovative approaches to education and empowering our students to become leaders in their communities. Our students have worked hard to reach this milestone, and we are proud of them and their potential.

The Minister said that as a forward-looking administration, “we are committed to deep reforms, backed by a robust implementation plan and innovative resource mobilization and allocation, which has been the bane of previous reform efforts.

Gaidam encouraged the students to be serious about their education, increase their imagination and creativity, and improve on their can-do attitude as well as thinking big toward the future.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, represented by the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Ajao Saka Adewale, expressed that the police as an institution and the parents, particularly, are fulfilled today.

He said, they have seen what we have been doing as police officers being done better by the graduating students. “Your parade is so wonderful, and your presentation very impressive, and the movement from slow to quick match was quite marvellous as well as the colour party”. CP added.

The Commandant, Police Day Secondary School, SP Mariam Yusuf, recalled that the pioneer set of learners were admitted to the prestigious institution in September 2019, and sixty-five (65) graduating students have distinguished themselves in both character and learning.

In her words, “Their journey over the years has been both challenging and rewarding. Through the dedication of our committed staff and the resilience of the learners, we now proudly celebrate a cohort of graduates who have been academically grounded, morally upright, and sufficiently equipped with requisite knowledge and life skills needed to thrive in the next phase of their academic and personal development”.
