NSA, Livestock Development Minister Decorate CSP Yusuf Abdullahi Idi

In recognition of his exceptional service, professionalism, and leadership, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Idi, alongside over 412 other senior officers, has been promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). 

The CSO to the Minister of Livestock Development, CSP Idi was among the Senior Superintendents of Police recently elevated by the Police Service Commission.

He was formally decorated with his new rank on Wednesday, 5th November 2025, by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, alongside the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, at the Office of the NSA in Abuja. 

CSP Idi, a distinguished law enforcement professional with over a decade of experience and has earned nationwide respect for his integrity, tactical competence, and commitment to reform-oriented policing. 

In his current assignment at the Ministry of Livestock Development, he has played a key role in strengthening livestock security operations, particularly in combating cattle rustling and improving community safety.

Under his coordination, security teams successfully recovered over 90 rustled cattle in Kaduna and Kebbi States, returning them to their rightful owners. This effort has helped reduce tensions and prevent reprisals in herder-farmer communities, supporting the Ministry’s goal of promoting peaceful coexistence.

Prior to his current posting, CSP Idi served as Chief Security Officer to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Didi Walson-Jack, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and inter-agency coordination.
