TCN unveils anti-corruption policy, warns staff against unethical conduct

The Transmission Company of Nigeria has unveiled an Anti-Corruption Policy Document as part of measures to strengthen transparency, accountability and ethical conduct across the organisation.

The document was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the TCN Corporate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit.

Speaking at the event, TCN Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the policy as a significant step towards reinforcing the company’s commitment to ethical standards and zero tolerance for corrupt practices.

Abdulaziz said TCN’s credibility depended not only on what it achieved but also on how it achieved its objectives.

He urged staff to familiarise themselves with the policy and ensure that its provisions guided their daily decisions and conduct.

The TCN boss commended the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit and others who contributed to the development of the document, stressing that its purpose went beyond preventing corruption to promoting honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism.

He called on employees to support the effective implementation of the policy and uphold its principles in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Earlier, the Chairman of ACTU, TCN, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling was more than the presentation of a policy document, describing it as a demonstration of the collective commitment of management and staff to strengthening integrity, transparency and accountability.

Benibo noted that corruption weakens institutions, undermines public trust and leads to the waste of valuable resources, adding that tackling the menace required the commitment of every member of staff.

Also speaking, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission representative and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, said the policy would help shape conduct, guide decision-making and strengthen institutional systems.

She explained that the policies provide guidance on preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to unethical and corrupt practices.

The highlight of the event was the formal unveiling of the Anti-Corruption Policy Document.
