AKPABIO CALLS FOR CONTINUED VOTERS REGISTRATION BY INEC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been urged to undertake the continued voters registration exercise on a continuous basis in respective polling units, until all prospective Nigerians of voting age are captured.
This was part of the Resolution reached by the Upper Chamber of the Senate Wednesday following a motion by the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio on matters arising from the continuous voters registration exercise.
The electoral body was urged INEC to decentralise the registration exercise on ward basis. The Senate equally mandated its committee on INEC to monitor the exercise and report progress and challenges periodically.
Senator Akpabio had observed that the voters registration exercise is fraught with several challenges that need to be addressed.
