Omo-Agege Rolls Out Empowerment Programme for Women and Youths in Ughelli

The Distinguished Senator representing the Central Senatorial District of Delta state at the Hallowed Red Chambers of the National Assembly on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Ovie Omo-Agege has once again kept to his promises of providing democratic dividends to people in his Senatorial district.


As part of the empowerment programme of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, (APC) over 400 people this weekend, (Saturday) benefited from the N150 million financial empowerment programme organised by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

The programme, which was flagged off on Saturday in Ughelli, headquarters of the Delta state Central Senatorial District, saw beneficiaries receiving various empowerment support.

Senator Omo-Agege, in his address at the event, disclosed that within one year of his office as a lawmaker, he was able to attract even development to his constituency with different projects spread across the eight local government areas that form the district.

Omo-Agege who stated that he is not unaware of the sufferings of the people as a result of the current economic recession, further disclosed that 200 women (petty market traders) and 200 Okada riders in Ughelli have been selected in the first phase of the exercise.

Beneficiaries of the empowerment programme went home with a seed capital to enable them enhance their businesses that will assist them to carter for their immediate family and reduce untold hardship.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries of the programme, Mr. Edojah Emokiniovo thanked Senator Omo-Agege for the opportunity to benefit from the empowerment programme, saying he had been trusting God for cash to start up a small business to complement his 'Okada riding' job which had not been forth coming.

According to Obaro Akporie, the performance of the APC chieftain in the Senate, in his first year in office is an indication of better things to come.

He described Senator Omo-Agege as a focused leader who deserves the support of everyone to move the Delta state Central Senatorial District from the stage it is, to greater heights.
