ANAMBRA KILLING: HEALTH MINISTER COMMISERATES WITH STATE GOVT
Nigeria's Minister for Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has commiserated with the Government and people of Anambra State on the unfortunate incident at the St. Phillips Catholic Church in Amakwa, Ozubulu town where there were reported deaths and injured worshippers.
The Honourable Minister, Professor Adewole in a statement signed by Boade Akinola, Director of Press in the Ministry, assured His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the State, Willie Obiano that his Ministry was monitoring the events and had placed on standby a team that can be urgently deployed to beef up services in the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi if the need arises.
The Health Minister, who described the incidence as shocking, has also directed the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Government Hospital to offer all the necessary services to the casualties with the assurance of immediate support of the Federal Government as soon as such is required.
He also commended the team at the hospital for being proactive in their response to the emergency.
