"ATIKU IS MOST PREPARED AND ORGANISED PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE".......Says Northern Group

With the clamour from different socio political and ethnic groups across the nation for the restructuring of Nigeria, many leaders of thought with a mind for the advancement of the good people of Nigeria, either economically or structurally, have continued to express support for the restructuring of Nigeria.

One of the most recognized and vocal voice is that of a former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Turaki Adamawa, GCON.



Atiku Abubakar, a presisential aspirant in 2015 has continued to support the clamour for the restructuring of Nigeria which would bring about cease in the of agitations, militancy and also, ensure a fair balance in the distribution of power and appointments in the country.

The former VP, although has not signified his presidential ambition for 2019, his body language so far, attests to the fact that he is a strong contender for the nation's exalted office of President especially as his powerful campaign structures; the Turaki Vanguard and its support forces are already been oiled in preperaration.

Many political analysts have expressed concerns that the North eastern region of the country has not been effectively considered in the scheme of governance.

In support of the former Vice President, the Northern Initiative for Good Governance (NIGG), a pro-democracy group has expressed regret that the Northeast geo-political zone of the country has been deprived of the presidential slot since the demise of the nation’s first Prime Minister, Late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa in 1966.

The NIGG in a statement Sunday signed by its secretary, Adamu Hassan recalled that the North East, since the advent of the nation’s nascent democracy in 1999 has been advocating for the slot to be zoned to it through various political party divides but to no avail.

Alhaji Adamu Hassan therefore appealed that the North East sub-region must under any political party platform be justifiably opportune to produce the next president in the 2019 general elections.

To this end, the group opined that the Adamawa born politician and Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar be encouraged to be the next President; come 2019 elections, saying; "the move will heighten political inspirations of the people in the Northeast whose beloved son, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was pre-mutually assassinated in 1966".

It explained that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has all it takes to be the next president of this country, and described him "as the most prepared and organized presidential contender in Nigeria’s political history".

According to Adamu Hassan "Atiku Abubakar is being identified by his relevance in the socio-political scenery of Nigeria, judging from his understanding contributions to unfolding developments in the country".

Expressing his optimism that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will contest the presidency in 2019 polls, be it of the platform of APC, PDP or any other political platform, Adamu Hassan stated that, already, the PDP of which Atiku is one of its founding member, has for sometimes now been canvassing for his return to its fold ahead of the 2019 elections, the statement concluded.
