"Ensure Harmonious Working Relationship with Members", Health Minister Tells Professional Bodies

Nigeria's Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, has called upon the leadership of professional bodies in the health sector to ensure harmonious working relationship among their members.

Adewole stated this when members of the Committee of Registrars of Health Professions (CRHP) made an advocacy visit to his office in Abuja, recently.


In a statement signed by Boade Akinola, Director in charge of Media and Public Relations, the Minister, while commending the Committee for their visit, stated that there was need for more networking and consultative meetings in the health sector, noting that, "all health practitioners are essentially related", 

Adewole stressed that more regular meetings between various health associations and the Federal Ministry of Health would help the sector nib brewing challenges in the bud and end the use of strikes as weapons to settle grievances.

Leader of the delegation, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Mami while speaking earlier, said that their visit was to improve their working relationship with the Ministry and appealed to the Minister to look into the speedy reconstitution of Boards of management for the various health professional bodies.

Ibrahim Mami also appealed for more funds to be allocated to the body to enable it carry out its constitutional responsibility of field visitation to the 35,000 health facilities and regulatory bodies under its purview; a plot of land for permanent office accommodation in FCT and the placement of it’s members on internship program me , amongst others.
