"URGE OF DELTA'S DEVELOPMENT; MY POLITICAL DRIVE"'........OGBORU

...Says he remains a progressive with unquenchable desire to turn things around.

A foremost Delta political heavyweight and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, has said that the continuous deterioration of critical infrastructures and poor development across Delta State, has become a heavy burden and pains to him. And that the desire to see a well developed Delta, which becomes a center of attraction and role model to other States is his political motivation and inspiration.

Chief Ogboru made the disclosure while addressing a group of friends, who paid him a courtesy visit at his home town. According to him, "many people keep wondering why I continue aspiring for the topmost job in Delta State despite being cheated and rigged out on several occasions. Delta is my home, if the best hospitals, schools, well equipped international airports, outstanding seaports, stable electricity and centers of tourists attraction or industrialised cities are found in it, my joy would be complete."

Chief Ogboru, Who is fondly called the "People's General", also added that the plights of the ordinary Deltan, who has been shortchanged by political gladiators across the State, has always inspired him to step into the gap to save the situation by utilizing the State's resources that are of the people to serve and better their lives.

"The wealth of Delta State is enough to make life comfortable for the people, but today what do we see?; a few people who are driven by greed, becoming millionaires and billionaires at the expense of the people's well being.

"I want to step into the gap and turn the fortune of the people around in a selfless manner. I want to create equal opportunities and level playing grounds for all Deltans to succeed and enjoy the dividends of the resources God has bestowed on our land. Just imagine what impacts stable electricity can have on the lives of our people", Ogboru said.

Responding to some allegations that he wants to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the People's General emphasised that he remains a progressive and a core member of the APC, with unquenchable desire to turn things around. Adding that, "APC is a mega political party with an ideological base of repositioning Nigeria for greatness, a task that the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration has begun at the federal level and that needs to be domesticated in Delta State."

He said it is a honour to be among the people that are determined to better the lots of the citizens, saying that his loyalty will continually remain with the APC and contrary to insinuations that there is some political tussle between him and Olorogun Otega Emerhor, Chief Ogboru stated that Olorogun Otega is a leader in APC whom he has much regards for and has no reason whatsoever to strive with.

"The fact that APC encourages internal democracy in order to provide the best and most acceptable hands amongst the party's qualified aspirants, is not enough reason to conclude that Olorogun Otega and Chief Ogboru are in a political combat. There are a lot of qualified highly respected Deltans from across the state, who desire to run for the governorship under the APC platform, it is a welcome development, I'm so happy we will have so many people who are ready to kick the PDP out of our dear state and together we would join forces and ensure our people are rescued from unmerited hardship caused by successive PDP administrations", Ogboru assures.

Ogboru termed those propagating such falsehood as "political mischief makers", who are desperate to cause disaffection in the APC, as they fear that their days of highhandedness and mismanagement of Delta's wealth are numbered.
