BUHARI TO DECLARE OPEN eNIGERIA 2017 CONFERENCE....Malami Is Keynote Speaker

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in collaboration with relevant IT stakeholders from public, private sector as well as non-governmental organisations, is organising Nigera's the first Information Technology Conference tagged eNigeria.



eNigeria, which is the #1 ICT Conference in the country, brings together IT experts, solution providers and major stakeholders from both within and outside Nigeria to brainstorm on current and relevant IT issues across the globe with major aim of leveraging on them for sustainable socio economic development of Nigeria.

A statement signed by Hadiza Umar, Head Corporate Affairs and External Relations, disclosed that eNigeria is a veritable platform for ICT awareness creation, developing appropriate framework and setting goals for best practices in order to enhance appropriate positioning of Nigeria in the global information society.

According to NITDA's Head of Corporate Affairs and External Relations, "eNigeria 2017 is with the theme; "Fostering Digital Economy through Local Content Development and Effective Regulations" will be declared open by His Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari GCFR, President and Commander -in- Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Arthoney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice is the Keynote Speaker".

The eNigeria Conference, includes an Exhibition and Award ceremony will  hold at the International Conference Centre, Abuja from 7th to 9th of November, 2017.
"Participation for the conference has opened and, accordingly, President Muhammadu Buhari will, at the ceremony, further advance the agenda for local content and sectoral regulations as basis for Nigeria’s entry into the digital economy; which is the major theme of eNigeria 2017.".

"The 10th Edition of eNigeria 2017 will promote deliberations on how Nigeria could thicken the value of its policy thrust on local content in pursuit of a national economy that is less dependent on crude oil export".

"Other sub-themes that tie up with the main themes are:  ‘Roadmap towards national ICT skills framework development; Positioning the nation to harvest value from emerging technologies; Improving the delivery of public services through ICT innovations; Indigenous ICT innovation management for national development;  and Demand shaping for local content promotion: entrepreneurial opportunities and regulatory challenges".

Speakers at the event include, the Minister of Communications, Barrister Abdur-Raheem Adebayo Shittu who is also the Chief Host of the event and the Director General of  the NITDA), Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, who is the Host and Convener of eNigeria 2017.

Other speakers include; Mr Adekunle Ajiboye, CEO of Ajimantics Limited, Canada; Raul Kaidro, CEO, Raul Walter, Estonia; Managing Partner of Technology Advisors, Mr. Basil Udotai; the CEO of InfoGraphics Nigeria, Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu; and the former Director of the United Nations Foundation’s Information & Communications Technology (ICT), Dr Ime Asangansi, among others.
