The Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has taken into its custody, a 10-year old girl who disappeared from school after school hours.
A statement from the Command in Kaduna by the Public Relations Officer, ASC Orndiir Terzungwe, on behalf of the State Commandant, Alhaji Modu Bunu, disclsed that the young girl (names withheld), hails from Kagoma in Jema’a Local Government of the state.
The minor who was found wandering around the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Wednesday evening explained that her inability to locate her elder sister; also a student of the school who takes her home after school hours, was not seen on that fateful day.
The Primary five school pupil, however, said prior to her disappearance, she lived harmoniously with her aunt, Blessing Francis who resides at Sabon-Tasha in Chickun LGA.
Investigation by officers of the NSCDC Command are ongoing to ascertain the reason for the minor’s action in order to re-unite her with guardian.
The Kaduna Command of the NSCDC has, however, called on parents and guardians to monitor movements of their children and wards to protect them from criminals
The Command also used the opportunity to caution members of the public to exercise caution in the usage of fire and electricity especially now that harmattan wind has started.
"People should switch-off their electrical appliances after use and those who use fire for cooking must put it off to control incidence of fire related disasters", the Command counselled.
