NIGER DELTA: FG Partners UK On Tourism, Vocational Training

Abuja-Nigeria. The Nigerian Government has confirmed its readiness to partner the United Kingdom in developing Tourism and improving Vocational Training for the youths in the Niger Delta region.

This was the disclosure of the Honourable Minister in charge of the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani who was represented by the Director overseeing the office of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Moses Okpo., 


Disclosing this in Abuja while playing host to some parliamentarians from the United Kingdom (UK) on a Trade Mission in Abuja yesterday, the Minister told the UK delegation: “We are in good hands with you, we will not allow this opportunity to skip from our hands”.

He added that the Ministry would partner with them in order to benefit from their facilities and programmes.

Earlier, the leader of the UK Parliamentarians, Mrs. Helen Grant said her team was in Nigeria to seek ways of improving bilateral relation in term of trade between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

“There are opportunities for Nigeria in the UK and also, there are opportunities for the UK in Nigeria", she reiterated.

Areas of interest of the Parliamentarians in their engagement with Nigeria include: Science and Technology, Road Transportation, Fishery Technology, Design Technology, Tourism and Infrastructural Development.
