ATIKU''S GROUP ADVISES PDP ON PARTY, MEMBERS PROGRESSION....Congratulates Secondus As Nat. Chairman

With programmes for 2019 already in motion, politicking by aspirants for the nations' exalted office has commenced with prominent notable names signifying interest.

Among these notable personalities is a former Number Two citizen during te Olusegun Obasanjo administration, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON.



As part of measures to prepare political parties for 2019 election, particularly oppositions, the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar's supporting group, Turaki Vanguard, has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be more decisive in its strategy for coming elections, just as it urged the party for a level playing field for aspirants at all levels.

The group tasked the political party on the need for its leadership to ensure that PDP do not return to its pit fall that almost cause a complete ruin of the entire structure of the opposition, stating that, the party has started its new journey well by embarking on reconciliation of its aggrieved members.

In a statement issued by the group’s National President, Hon. Oladimeji Fabiyi, to the media in Abuja yesterday, it commended the party and its members over its choice of leaders elected during the PDP’s convention held in December 2017, where Uche Secondus and other members were elected as National Working Committee and National Executive Council members of the party.

The Turaki Vanguard congratulated Secondus and other members of the party in their victory at the last convention, just as it charged them that the party must not encourage any form of impunity and other vices that could cause disorganization of the party as witnessed in past years.

“We believe in the competence, experience and capacity of Prince Secondus and the array of eminent and distinguished members of the executive of the party", the statement read.

“The party has started very well by embarking on reconciliation of its aggrieved members. Our advice to the leadership is to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants at all levels. The party must not return to it vomit, that almost cost it its life".

The group warned that; “The party must resist and refrain from all forms of impunity, temptation and intimidation to sideline or disregard internal democracy. The leadership must ensure the unity of the party at all cost".

“Prince Secondus is a man with deep intellect and good sense of judgement, adequate courage and capacity to lead the party back to glory and victory in 2019".

“We must face the election as a united house and family. The choice of its candidates at all levels most especially the Presidential candidate must be a popular choice among the members of the party and Nigerian citizens if the party must be victorious in 2019", it stated..

“We also use this medium to congratulate and welcome His, Excellency Atiku Abubakar GCON back to the party he co-founded. His return and presence in the party no doubt, has lifted the image and spirit of the party. The party leaders must however ensure that others still outside should return.
