Renowned environmentalist and prominent PDP Chieftain in Delta State, Chief Sunny Onuesoke has called on the few members still remaining in the drowning APC in Delta to retrace their steps and join hands with the SMART Agenda of Gov. Okowa and the PDP in the State.
Onuesoke made the call recently while addressing reporters at the Osubi Airport, Warri.
The one time governorship aspirant in Delta State and currently the National Media Director of Atiku Care Foundation, said; "APC, as a party in Delta, is dead and cannot stand the test of time".
"I have friends and Associates in APC who on a daily basis bemoan the state of affairs in the country. They are not happy with the leadership style of President Buhari and desire to return to their first love, the Peoples' Democratic Party".
"Nigeria, as a country is at her lowest ebb. The Buhari led administration is not sensitive to the yearnings and sufferings of the masses. The level of corruption, impunity, killings and insecurity has taken another twist and dimension", he said.
Never in Nigeria's history has such looting by public servants, killings and insecurity as seen with this APC led federal Govt. Yet they go about with claims of fighting corruption", Chief Onuesoke stated.
The prominent and outspoken environmentalist cum politician also called on APC members in Delta State to retrace their steps and join hands with Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa in transforming the State.
"I want to passionately appeal to my brothers in APC, especially in Delta Central to return home to PDP".
"Delta State belong to us. Let's set aside our personal, parochial and party sentiments and join hands with Gov. Okowa in transforming Delta State", he stated
In a related development, Sunny Onuesoke eulogised the sterling qualities of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, stating that he (Okowa) deserves a second term in office.
Onuesoke made this known at the International headquarters of Onuesoke Foundation where he hosted members of the Motorcycle and Tricycle Riders Association in Ughelli North.
The Association members led by their President, Mr. Shedrach Shapele, noted with joy the recognition and hospitality accorded them by Onuesoke.
"We are often denigrated by the political class before now. This meeting today has given us a sense of belonging and we promise to mobilise our members for Gov. Okowa because of this singular act of Chief Onuesoke".
While responding, Onuesoke described Gov. Okowa as an astute politician with a large humane heart who is committed to the speedy development of the State without sentiments or favour.
Onuesoke noted that Okowa is more than capable for a second term considering his past and present public track records.
"I want you to go back home to your brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, close relations and loved ones and preach the prosperity agenda of this administration to them".
"Okowa is more than capable for a second term. Let's support him to take Delta State to greater heights", he stated.
