Delta state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, referred to as the "Smart Governor" has been described as a "born leader and political genius", following his exceptional handling of the peaceful PDP Guber primaries in Ekiti state.


This was the assertion of the leading Senatorial aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP) in Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief (Senator) Ighoyota Amori.

Amori, while commending the Delta state governor who is also the Chairman of the Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial primaries, described the outcome of the Ekiti exercise as another success story in national political assignment by Ifeanyi Okowa.

In a statement made available to NAIJ NEWS ALERT, by the PDP leader at his country home in Mosogar, Ethiope West Chief Amori said the Smart Governor has in recent years proven to be a born leader and a man well schooled; greatly endowed in partisan business and above all, has the mastery of political engineering especially in organising and coordinating major and mega political events.

"Last year, our amiable governor chaired both the elective and non-elective party convention of PDP at the national level and delivered without rancour and without blemish".

"He got a standing ovation from party faithfuls and Nigerians at home and in the diaspora for his great wisdom, maturity and transparency in dealing with all stakeholders within the party structures".

"The opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) waited in vain for disaster at both the non-elective and elective conventions as Gov. Okowa, who was chairman of both national events gave APC leaders the shocker of the 21st century by organizing the freest and most transparent party convention since the advent of constitutional democracy in 1999".

"The Ekiti Guber primaries success story is an addition to the many successes clinched within the past three years by the Smart Governor, not only as an incumbent performing  governor but as a national political leader of no mean repute".
