SACK OF DSS BOSS: "It's Belated and of No Consequence to Our Present Day Democracy...... ONUESOKE

The barricade of the National Assembly Complex on Tuesday by armed masked personnel of the Department of State Security, DSS has continued to national and global outrage.



Following the early morning siege by DSS operatives who barricaded the NASS complex and prevented legislators and staff from gaining access into the premises.

In an obvious move to express the displeasure of the Federal Government, the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, announced the immediate removal of the Director General of the DSS.

However, frontline chieftain of the PDP and environmental expert, Chief Sunny Okpako Onuesoke has described the sack Lawal Daura, boss of the DSS as belated and of no consequences.

Onuesoke, in a statement made available to Naij News Alert in Abuja, said that, Lawal Daura ought to have been arrested.

According to him, "the sack of the DSS boss is belated and of no significant consequence to our present day democracy".

"It is inconsequential in the sense that, the sacked DSS boss has caused a lot of damage since he was appointed in 2015".

"He has succeeded in destroying the fibres and trust of the Nigeria security agencies. Not only should he be sacked, he should also be arrested for the massive atrocities  committed since his resumption as the DG of the DSS".

"He should be arrested for all the major security embarrassments he has caused on the image of Nigeria", Onuesoke insisted.

"I therefore call on the Acting President to immediately commence on the automatic sack of all Service Chiefs and also, include the Minister of Interior".

In the statement, Onuesoke further said that, "the arrest of the sacked DSS boss will reveal a lot of secrets that is going on, within the security failures for the past 3yrs of the present administration".

"When you arrest the sacked DSS boss, a lot innocent and unnecessary deaths and detentions that are taking place since 2015, will be revealed to the public and Nigerians, and the world in general will be surprised", the statement read.

"All these security lapses are as a result of the appointment of incompetent persons into positions. The appointment of round pegs in square holes is the problem".

"I hereby call on the National Executive Council, NEC currently headed by Osibanjo to disolve all Heads of Security outfits in the country today", it concluded.
