#DeltaDecides2019: Onuesoke Congratulates Okowa, Says Victory Not Strange

"Okowa's at the polls was nothing strange because his performance index as governor of the state, has made the electorates love him and crave for more of his excellence in another four years"... Onuesoke

Prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Sunny  Onuesoke has congratulated Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on his re-election as the Governor of Delta describing his victory as nothing strange.

He said the victory of Okowa at the polls was nothing strange because his performance index as governor of the state, has made the electorates love him and crave for more of his excellence in another four years

Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP has won in 23 of the 25 local government areas in Delta State leaving his closest rival, Chief Great Ogboru of the APC, with wins in only two local government in the Delta State Gubernatorial election. Official results from all 25 LGAs released by INEC, showed that Okowa polled 925,274 while Ogboru scored 215,938 votes.

Addressing newsmen  by the sideline during the Thanksgiving service for  declaring Okowa as  the winner of the election, an elated Onuesoke said Okowa’s victory  at the poll was not strange because he merited it as shown in his performance index in the state.

He said the Governor’s astonishing performance in the state as evidently recorded in his  numerous achievements  gave him and others, the belief that his re-election is a concluded issue hence you cannot suppress the wish of the people

According to him, "If someone has performed creditably well, he should be giving the opportunity to tidy up things in another four years and that is what we saw  in the victory of Okowa in the just concluded Delta State governorship election"

"Although, I am not an advocate of 4x4 but an advocate of performance. If a leader like Okowa has done well, I would even advocate for a third term for him because, what we needed in delta state is performance leadership. But, a leader whose performance index is distinctive as  exhibited by Governor Okowa in Delta State, such a leader should be allowed to do another four years as enshrined in the Nigeria Constitution".

Onuesoke remains optimistic that the people-oriented Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa is on course to do better in another four years, just as he assured everyone that the Governor would continually champion such courses that advance the development of the entire State .
