BREAKING: NOTORIOUS KIDNAP KINGPIN TERRORIZING KADUNA-ABUJA HIGHWAY ARRESTED

Military patrols including cordon and search teams have recorded a huge victory, following the arrest of one of the most notorious kidnap kingpins on the Kaduna Abuja expressway, Sani Ibrahim Ilyasu Birtu.

The arrest of Sani came on the heels of intensified of raids on surrounding hideouts of criminal elements who took to terrorizing travelers along the major link road from the Northwestern states to the FCT.

It is hoped that with the capture and arrest of Sani Ibrahim Ilyasu Birtu, the recent increased spate of kidnapping cases along the Kaduna-Abuja route will drastically reduce as others will take a cue and dump their nefarious acts before the long arm of the law catches up with them.

Speaking with Adamu Aliyu, a transporter who plies that route daily, he says it is kudos to our security agents for a job well done.

Nigerians with intentions to travel to Abuja from Kaduna have resorted to traveling by train for fear of kidnappers thereby, increasing activities of touts and ticket racketeers to a frightening dimension while also, bringing operations at the numerous motor parks to a near halt.

Aliyu commended the security forces but asked them not to relent in flushing the entire route of criminal minds while also, restoring peace to the area.

Only last week, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had announced the arrest of about five persons who specialize in ticket racketeering at both Abuja and Kaduna following complaints of a scheme by suspected persons to increase price of tickets at the train stations at both ends. Meanwhile, investigations are still ongoing to track down all involved in the ticket racketeering scheme.
