Human Rights Activists Raises Alarm Over CNL Activities in Niger Delta

"Chevron Neglecting Host Communities In Niger Delta".... Comrade Mulade Sheriff Reveals.

.... Tells CNL Management To Address Ugborodo People's Demand Urgently.

A Niger Delta human and environmental rights activist Comrade Mulade Sheriff has called on the management of Chevron Nigeria Limited to as a matter of urgency  address the demands of Ugborodo Communities in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.


According to him "It will interest the management of Chevron, FG, State Government and the general public to note that the demands of Ugborodo Communities today are equally the request of all Chevron Itsekiris Ijaws and Illaji host Communities in their operational areas of the Niger Delta."

Comrade Mulade Sheriff who is also the Secretary General Egbema, Gbaramatu Communities' Development Foundation, EGCDF pointed out that Chevron has deliberately neglected her host Community where they make huge resources to run their establishment and Government  at all levels are the greatest beneficiaries of the ugly neglect by aiding the intimidation, oppression and humiliation meant on Communities by CNL.

Conrade Mulade stressed that "Since the entry of Chevron Nigeria Limited into our communities over Four decades ago they refuse to pay acquisition fees to their host Communities to Ijaws, Itsekiris and others.

The Egbema, Gbaramatu Communities Development Foundation Scribe quipped furtuer that; "I can authoritatively tell you that all host Communities are preparing to mobilize their people to occupy Chevron swamp operations within the next few days particularly Abiteye, Makaraba, Dibi, Opuekeba, Utonana and Olero fields if Chevron fails to address the issues of Ugborodo and settled Land acquisition RENTS, ELECTRICITY,  PROVISION OF Portable DRINKABLE WATER, EMPLOYMENT as well as other  OPPORTUNITIES", he added.
