The Kaduna state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has described as unnecessary, the outburst in some quarters, concerning the comments made by Governor Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai.
Malam Nasir el-Rufai, at a function organized by the Bridge Club in Lagos state, had given his opinion as it concerns Godfatherism in the political space in Nigeria but certain persons within the party has read a different meaning to the comment.

Expressing its total support to their leader, the APC in Kaduna, in a statement signed by Salisu Tanko Wusono, Assistant Publicity Secretary says the reactions from the Lagos state chapter of the APC, was unnecessary.
According to Salisu Wusono in the statement, the APC, Kaduna state chapter "has observed with dismay, the hullabaloo and outburst that followed the opinion of the Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufa’i as many meanings have been read into what he meant".
"It is imperative for us in the Kaduna State Chapter of the APC to set the records straight as it has become necessary as the Lagos State Chapter of the APC has albeit to, reacted negatively".

"Having found out from our interactions with many stakeholders, we discovered that Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai did not insult Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu or anybody for that matter at the occasion, rather the Kaduna state Governor was only encouraging all registered voters to vote at every election so as to downplay the role of godfatherism in Nigeria politics just as it were in the recently concluded general elections where many political godfathers were sent out of business by Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kaduna State Chapter".
On who becomes the next chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), "the Kaduna State Chapter of APC affirmed its support for the aspiration of Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai’i for the post because of the qualities inherent in him".
In conclusion, it noted with appreciation that any of the thirty-six state governors are eminently qualified for the Chairmanship of the Forum, but are however, of the opinion that Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai is the best man for the job.
