NNDC COMMISSIONS #793m STATE-OF-THE-ART ULTRA MODERN SHOPPING MALL IN KADUNA

The New Nigeria Development Company Limited, NNDC, with its huge investments across the north, on Thursday 12th September, commissioned its 3-Storey ultra modern Shopping Mall, located on the busy Muhammadu Buhari Way in Kaduna.

The ultra modern #793m state-of-the-art edifice is fully equipped to stand global definitions of Shopping Malls and cater for the needs of all strata of society.

NNDC, which started off in 1949 as the Northern Regional Production and Development Board, NRPDC, was established to catalyze the economic and social development of the then northern region. The company, in 1956 was renamed as the Northern Region Development Corporation but following its Incorporation as a Limited Liability Company in 1968 adopted the new name; The New Nigeria Development Company.

Chairman of the NNDC, Tanimu Yakubu in his speech which he delivered during the commissioning, revealed that "the NNDC is a diversified holding company with a worthy heritage and an enviable track record of achievements, providing a wide range of financial and professional advisory services.

According to the NNDC chairman, the company's objective is to be a resounding commercial success in its operations especially with its interest in Real Estate Development, which is one of the major purveyor in the Nigerian economy with considerable opportunities within the northern region.


Yakubu disclosed that, the decision to develop the Ultra Modern Shopping Mall; a three storey edifice with state-of-the-art facilities, was part of a 5-Year Strategic Plan of the company which included the development of a multi purpose Mall.

This project was solely financed 100% at the total cost of #793m by the NNDC, he said.

The edifice, according to the NNDC Chairman, has a total lettable space of 4,263 square metres and contains 51 stalls of different sizes with adequate provision of conveniences for tenants and customers.

Present at the commissioning were governors of the 19 Northern states, owners of shares in various proportions of the NNDC who were in Kaduna state for an emergency meeting to address issues of insecurity, unemployment and poverty in the region.
