OKOWABILITY: Asaba Airport Records Another Milestone
..... Secures Approval For Direct Flights To Kano.
"The Asaba to Kano flight is slated for 9.50am Mondays to Fridays and Sundays"..... Aniagwu
"Take full advantage of the innovations and opportunities from the airport to enjoy world class air transport services to their various destinations".
The administration of the "Workability Governor of Delta State", Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has added another feather to his string of successes.
Under the guidance and leadership of the Okowa led administration, the Asaba International Airport has recorded another milestone as Aero Contractors shall commence direct flights from Asaba to Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano with effect from Jan. 20.
This was made known in a statement by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Delta state, Mr. Charles Aniagwu in Asaba on Wednesday.
Aniagwu, in the statement, indicated that "the Asaba to Kano flight is slated for 9.50am Mondays to Fridays and Sundays".
"The growing business activities in the airport was as a result of the huge investments made by the Okowa administration to upgrade the airport", he stated.
"As part of the upgrade of the airport, the administration has concluded the airfield lightings and is about to conclude the final processes that will lead to the calibration of the Instrument Landing System (ILS)".
It would be recalled that in the last quarter of 2019, AZMAN Air commenced operations at the Airport and since then, sustained daily return flights from Asaba to Abuja and also, Asaba to Lagos.
"I therefore urge air travellers and Deltans to take full advantage of the innovations and opportunities from the airport to enjoy world class air transport services to their various destinations", Aniagwu stated.
Naij News Alert, while speaking to some members of the business community in the state, gathered that the Asaba-Kano flight is a welcomed development and a plus to the Okowa led government in the state.
According to Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, one of the respondents spoken to, "we must commend this governor for this wonderful stride and achievement. Not many state chief executives will be bothered by the discomfort suffered by the people travelling to longer distances within the country".
"With this now, one can conveniently, make the direct trip to Kano instead of Abuja and then, begin to commute by road, especially now with the dangers on the Abuja Kaduna road".
