HORRIFIC: MIDDLE AGED WOMAN COMMITS SUICIDE…..SETS HERSELF ABLAZE

The ECWA staff community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State has been thrown into mourning following the death of a young lady in her mid thirties, simply identified as Dinatu Gadi.

Sources conversant with the incident revealed that the deceased who allegedly committed suicide by setting herself ablaze, was a returnee from the United states  and was reported to have been in good spirits before the unfortunate incident occurred.

Eyewitness accounts disclosed that the unfortunate and sad incident occurred late on Thursday night whilst many had retired inddors.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports quoted one John Fara as saying that the deceased had reportedly bought a gallon of kerosene at about 8pm and had sneaked to the back of their house where she reportedly poured the whole content on her body and set herself ablaze.

John Fara, who is reported to be a neighbour of the deceased, disclosed that he saw a huge fire burning but thought someone was burning trash.

“I was outside the house when I saw a huge fire behind the compound and thought someone was burning trash”, he stated.

“Then I heard someone screaming once, ‘I am dying oooh’ and I quickly went behind to inquire what was going on and discovered someone was burning in the fire”.

“Immediately, we brought water and poured it on her, but it was already too late as she was badly burnt all over, but she was still alive”.

Sources have expressed their pains over the sad and very unfortunate incident describing it as shocking.
