DELTA STATE : PASTOR OKOTIE DIES OF COVID-19 COMPLICATIONS IN SAPELE

A prominent clergy in Delta state has reportedly  died following  complications from the novel coronavirus pandemic, in the popular city of Sapele.

According to reports monitored from the Vanguard and other information reaching Naij News Alert from Sapele, Senior Pastor Wilson Okotie died on Thursday evening after he was admitted into Treasurehold Specialist Hospital along Ugbeyiyi road in Sapele; a private hospital which is contrary to the directives of the Federal  Ministry of Health and protocols of COVID-19, after becoming symptomic of the dreaded pandemic virus.

Unfortunately, Pastor Okotie lost the battle to save his life, as he was pronounced dead at 6.40pm, on Friday.

Pastor Wilson Okotie, who is the Senior Pastor, High Impact Christian Centre, located along Akintola Road, Opposite Ita Lane, Sapele, Delta State, was said to have fallen sick on Thursday.

Reports say he was said to have been secretly admitted and being treated, in defiance to the protocols of COVID-19.

According to  the reports, top fficials of the Delta State Ministry of Health, from Asaba, have shut down the hospital, following information that the medical facility was managing two COVID-19 patients.

Sources in Sapele  revealed that the ambulance that came to the hospital to evacuate the remains of late Pastor Okotie was attacked by people believed to be relatives of the clergyman.

It will be recalled that Federal Ministry of Health has warned severally against the treatment of COVID-19 related issues by private medical facilities in the country.
