RAPE IN KADUNA: 4 Men Gang Rape 13 Years Old Girl
With the nationwide cry against rape and in particular, the Edo state incident which has lead to reactions from Civil Society Organizations, CSO’s in the country, many had expected these predators to tarry in their dastardly acts but unfortunately, the cases in Kaduna state seem to go on the increase.
Reports from Kaduna reveals that penultimate week, four middle aged men gang-raped a thirteen year old after they had succeeded in drugging the young teenager in order to carry out their dastardly and nefarious act and afterwards, dumped her underneath a parked vehicle near her house.
Sources told NNA that the victim was taken by suspects on a motorcycle that was “ridden by an unsuspecting biker and dumped underneath a parked car, close to her house”.
According to the Kaduna state Ministry of Human Services and Social Development, via its Twitter handle, it stated that “after hours of frantic search, the victim was found by a relative and immediately taken to the hospital”.
“The four rapists and one collaborator have since been arrested and the case moved to the State Criminal Investigative Department”, it stated.
“After investigation, the suspects will be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction”.
The Kaduna state Ministry of Human Services and Social Development observed that, “while the ongoing protest against rape continues, the monstrous practitioners have not shown signs of slowing down”.
Stakeholders have therefore called on the state government including security agencies to be more proactive to curb the increasing rape cases, which will influence negatively, the lives of the citizenry.
Many parents are beginning to express their fears in allowing their female children step outside of their homes for dear of the predators who seem to dare government.
According to Suleiman Mustapha, until government pushes for more punitive measures, which will serve as deterrent, rapists will continue to have a field day.
He appealed to government to pursue for a stronger legislation that will help stop this wicked act that seeks to give the state a bad reputation.
Mustapha expressed his belief in the Kaduna state government under the able leadership of Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai to frontally address the menace and also ensure that the right legislation is promulgated and any offender, is punished appropriately.
