SACK AKPABIO, DISBAND IMC NOW....CSO'S DEMAND

A strong call for the removal of Chief Godswill Akpabio as Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, is gathering momentum following heavy allegations of misappropriation of over #40billion naira.

Also, the disbandment of the Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has continued to attract attention.

Pushing for the immediate sack of Akpabio and the disbandment is a coalition of stakeholders from the Niger Delta region under the aegis of the Conduct and Due Process Group, in collaboration with Niger Delta Youth Advocates for Development and other civil society groups in the Niger Delta region.

The coalition groups have therefore, called for the removal of the Interim Management Committee, IMC and its declaration as illegal. 

The Coalition groups have signified their preparedness to proceed on a 'Protest March' and as such, written to the Inspector General of Police informing the Nigerian Police of their "intention to conduct a peaceful assembly" at the premises of NDDC in all NDDC member states and at the premises of the National Assembly and the Channels Television in Lagos. 

As part of their demands, the organizers are calling for the removal of the NDDC from the control of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and from Godswill Akpabio's control as it is illegal. 

The groups have also stated that thr protesters would also be calling for the removal of Godswill Akpabio as Minister of Niger Delta affairs after being alleged of mismanagement of N40 Billion naira.
