I have been silent for a week now because I felt like: “what’s the point?” Nigerians are very comfortable with what has befallen them. But now, I have been “harassed” into speaking again. Though I want you to note that although this represents only few voices, it can easily be drowned in the sea of noises. 

We know that when you have become too accustomed to a particular thing or way of life, you begin to see this as the normal. 

For example, a lot of people have been saying that after this Covid - 19 Pandemic, things would  never go back to the normal again. I, therefore, always ask these people really what is the normal? Who or what has made it the normal in the first place? Just because that is all that we were used to should not make them the normal for us and that is why most Nigerians have been seeing all these nonsense happenings as the normal. 

But thank God, some of us are waking up our sensibilities to the realities and we are trying also to make more people see why we all need to discard this absurd mentality of “what can I do?”

You can do a lot and it all starts with the realization that these current happenings are not what normal things should be like . 

Secondly, thinking and finding the way out should be the next step.  

Thirdly,  we should speak out aloud even if that is all we can do.

There is a saying that, “the day a mad person come to realize that he or she is naked or dirty marks the beginning of his or her healing process”.

Everyone of us cannot be cowered down any longer.  This is because, some of us have discovered that the best way of handling “Bullies” is to confront them head on.

Bullies are actually smart cowards! Why I refer to them as being smart is because they know that the best form of defense is attack. Since they rarely have any physical, moral or intellectual strength, they would only use the psychological weapon of bullying so that you do not notice their shortcomings and inadequacies or limitations.  

They would want to keep things that way because that is their only muscle or defense mechanism over you. 

However, the moment you realize that they are nothing but just “bragger doses” and start showing that which you have in abundance, they would be afraid of you and coiling up with their tails between their legs into eventual oblivion. 

That’s what bullies are like except you find them out first! 

If a lion sees a lamb and runs into a hole, don’t blame the lamb if it runs after it to dislodge it from its hiding place.
